COMPACT EXCAVATORS (MINI-EXCAVATORS)
The compact (or "mini") hydraulic excavator has many advantages over the traditional center-mount backhoe.  These types of backhoes are commonplace on construction sites today.  When backhoe work becomes the primary usage of a machine, the compact excavator presents a more efficient way of doing this type of work.

The Bobcat compact excavator is designed specifically for trenching and excavating.  The operator is offset, giving better visibility to the bucket.  The operator rotates with the upper structure reducing fatigue due to head movement.  The Bobcat excavator has faster repositioning - no stabilizer and bucket to raise and reset.  The compact size allows the machine onto more job sites and reduces disturbance to surrounding areas.  The compact excavator can finish jobs started by larger excavators.  The Bobcat compact excavator has minimal tail swing with no loader bucket in the rear to reduce the room needed to work.

Bobcat compact excavators are available in many models and capacities.  Bobcat also offers many different attachments to meet your job requirement.

The Bobcat 430 and 435 are the world's first compact excavators with ZERO HOUSE SWING (ZHS) and the FastTrack drive system.  Not only does the rear of the machine stay within the excavator's width, so does the front end - the machine's left and right front corners.  ZHS decreases the changes of accidentally striking buildings or trees during operation.  No damage to the machine or surrounding objects means lower operating costs.  Zero House Swing also permits easier spoil placement in tight quarters.  If necessary, the operator can slew completely around and dump soil behind the machine.  The ZHS design allows a zero radius swing range of nearly 320-degrees.  This makes the 430 and 435 ideal for jobsites where maneuverability in small spaces is a must.
